How to validate a CITQ chalet
Wondering how to check if a cottage is legal?
It's easy. Here's how to check with the CITQ if the cottage you're renting is legal.
- Ask the owner of the chalet for the # CITQ.
- Then go to the website of the QUEBEC TOURIST INDUSTRY CORPORATION.
- Then click on the button " HELLO QUEBEC “. The bonjour Québec site is a directory of all the chalets for rent in the Laurentians and elsewhere in Quebec. This is where the list of all the cottages for rent is kept.
- Then click on the " ACCOMMODATION IN COTTAGES“.
- Scroll down the window and click on » See on the map »
- Enter the CITQ number in the search box at the top left.
If the chalet is indeed registered with the CITQ, it will appear in the results.
Otherwise, be vigilant and do further checks!
